Arsenal skipper Cesc wanted Messi to beat Man Utd's Ronaldo for Ballon d'Or

Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas didn't want Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo to win this year's Ballon d'Or.

The former Barcelona trainee had hoped good friend Lionel Messi would pip the Portuguese ace for the gong.

"Cristiano's season was spectacular, but I would have liked to have seen what Messi did recognised, because he is my friend," said the Spain international midfielder.
