Andre Santos admits his decision to join Arsenal was made with Fenerbahce having been thrown out of the Champions League.
The Brazil fullback signed for the Gunners yesterday.
He admits the problems besetting Turkish football and Fener swayed his decision: "It would be wrong to say otherwise. Although I was happy there, I had to make this decision for the sake of my career.
"Fenerbahce are not in a good situation. This transfer is in line with the best interests of the club."
Andre Santos added: "I have said I will leave the door open. I love this club and the Turkish people. Why couldn't I come back?"
