Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's midfield search has led him to Spartak Moscow midfielder Kim Kallstrom.

The Swede is seen by Wenger as cover for Aaron Ramsey, who has been ruled out for six weeks today.

Wenger confirmed he could buy a new midfielder this morning: "We are open minded and active, we look at opportunities. We still try to bring at least one player as we were hit by the suspension to Flamini and the injury to Ramsey. A midfielder is one of the solutions. I would scrap the transfer window."

The Daily Mail says talks between Arsenal and Spartak have commenced.
