Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is doing all he can to play this season.
The Sunday Mirror says the 20-year-old midfielder's comeback from an ankle injury came to a shuddering halt after suffering a stress fracture in the same foot.
Wilshere was ordered to rest for three weeks, but Arsenal have brought forward the date of his next scan to this week after making better progress than expected.
If he is given the all-clear, Wilshere will step up his rehabilitation and could be back playing next month to boost his chances of making England's Euro 2012 squad.
