Arsenal scout Grimandi: Wenger always keen to add old boys to staff

Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi has defended manager Arsene Wenger after the axing of Thierry Henry.

Grimandi - who twice won the league with Arsenal before taking on a role as a scout for the club - has staunchly defended the manager.

“He is a faithful guy who will always reach out to the former players," Grimandi told L'Equipe.

"After that, so they can work at the club, there must be room available and they must have the required competence and they make a request.

“Today, I see at least fifteen of them [former players] work for Arsenal.

"Luis Boa Morte, Moritz Volz oversee Portugal and Germany, or Steve Bould, who is still deputy for Arsene."
