Arsenal to scout Ghana young gun Acquah

Ghana Web is reporting that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will send a scout to watch Afriyie Acquah in January's African Cup of Nations.

The 20-year old Ghanaian midfielder, currently on loan with Parma from fellow Italian club Palermo, is attracting interest from around Europe and it is believed that the Gunners will watch him closely in South Africa.

Acquah has been compared to Chelsea's Michael Essien, a player Arsenal have already been linked with, as Wenger looks to bring in a no-nonsense midfielder with physical attributes.

It has been suggested that Acquah, who has played for Ghana twice, would cost around £8million.
