Arsenal's Wilshere will captain England says current skipper Gerrard

England captain Steven Gerrard believes Jack Wilshere is a future Three Lions captain in the making.

The 21-year old has so far won seven caps for his country but give it a decade or so and Liverpool star Gerrard says he is likely to have played 100 times for England with some of them being with the captain's armband.

"Once he gets to my age he will probably be sitting in my position with the armband on and talking about another 100-cap player, he's that good," said Gerrard.

"He has the quality, he shows it in training every day and he seems a level-headed kid who wants to learn. He loves England.

"He ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to other players following his lead. I'm paranoid about putting too much pressure on a player, especially Jack, but he has the quality."
