Arsenal's Wilshere says England knew they would beat San Marino

Jack Wilshere admitted he felt comfortable throughout England's 5-0 victory over San Marino on Thursday night.

The Three Lions coasted to a second Euro2016 qualifying win with an assured performance at Wembley and Arsenal midfielder Wilshere felt it was an expected result from he and his national teammates.

"We did what we had to do. We knew we would win, it was just a matter of keeping going. Once we scored we knew we could get a few," said Wilshere.

"We showed them respect. I enjoy getting forward and it was nice. It wasn't against one of the best nations in the world but we had a job to do and we did it."

Goals from Phil Jagielka, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Andros Townsend and an own-goal from Alex Della Valle allowed Roy Hodgson's England side to remain top of Group E with six points.
