Arsenal's Wenger storms out after Spurs jibe

According to The Sun, Arsene Wenger has stormed out during the post match press conference after Arsenal's 2-0 loss to arch rivals Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

In the last North London derby clash at the stadium, as Spurs move to Wembley in 2017-18, and with both sides with a lot to play for – Arsenal remaining in touch of the top four and Tottenham hoping to keep the pressure on league leaders Chelsea – the stakes were high.

Goals from Dele Ali and Harry Kane sent the Spurs fans into raptures as the win guaranteed, for the first time in 22 years, that Tottenham would finish above Arsenal at season's end – a fact that Wenger was reminded of during the press conference.

"Well done to them, but when you start the championship the target is not to finish above Spurs, it is to fight for the title.

"Look in 20 years it happened once, mathematically it has to happen once. We are not happy with it, but we don't compare ourselves to Spurs, we compare ourselves to where we want to be."

Arsenal now find themselves six points adrift of fourth place Manchester City, however the Gunners do have a game in hand.
