Theo Walcott was pleased to be given an opportunity to play a central forwards role in Arsenal's 5-2 win over Reading on Monday night.
The 23-year old winger, who comes out of contract at the end of the season, is still yet to sign a new deal with the Gunners as he ponders his future in North London.
One thing Walcott has spoken about is getting more of a chance in a central position and at the Madejski Stadium he performed well up front, although he indicated that isn't quite enough to put pen to a new deal.
"Talks are ongoing," Walcott told Sky Sports after scoring the fifth goal in Arsenal's big win.
"It's going to be a slow process."
He added: "I enjoy playing up front. It's about getting more opportunities and today the boss gave me an opportunity. I thought I played well - but it's also about the boys behind me. Jack [Wilshere] and the others make my job so much easier."
