Theo Walcott is supremely confident that the England team will come out the other end stronger after losing to Italy in the quarter-finals of Euro2012.

The Three Lions were beaten 4-2 in a penalty shootout by the Azzurri after extra-time ended 0-0 and the Arsenal winger feels that plenty of lessons will be learnt from the nature of the defeat, and the tournament as a whole.

"We have to have our heads raised up high and we have got to look forward to the World Cup qualifiers coming up soon," he told reporters.

"We'll have a good break, and everyone deserves it, but a lot of experience was learnt in that game against Italy, especially for the young players.

"A lot of players have made names for themselves in this tournament and that's all we can do. We've got to look for the positives and learn from the negatives.

"We will be stronger, we can only get better and better."
