Arsenal's Park set for South Korean military service

Arsenal striker Park Chu-young has pledged to join South Korea's military service.

The 26-year old recently obtained a 10-year residency from Monaco which was set to make him eligible to miss his duty which is compulsory for able-bodied Korean men.

But the Gunners forward has agreed to undergo military service after first trying to free himself of the obligation, although it is unsure exactly when he will serve his two to three years.

"I am sorry," Park was quoted as saying. "As one of the (Korean) people, I will do my sacred military service no matter what."
