Recent reports indicate that Manchester City are very close to signing Samir Nasri from Arsenal. BBC Sport suggests that the Frenchman, who has been linked with the Eastlands club for most of the summer, is set to depart the Emirates Stadium in the next 24 hours.
A transfer fee of around £25million has been agreed upon and it is believed that Nasri, who rejected a contract extension at Arsenal, will be on his way before the weekend.
Earlier reports today claimed that Nasri was set for a medical at City but that was mere speculation as the clubs had not agreed a deal allowing that procedure to take place.
However, it now appears that the former Marseille man will follow Cesc Fabregas out of North London, leaving a gaping hole in Arsene Wenger's midfield.
