Johan Djourou suffered a dislocated shoulder during Arsenal's recent FA Cup quarter-final defeat to Manchester United and has undergone surgery. Gunners boss Arsene Wenger initially felt the defender would be out for the rest of the season but now the Swiss international could return within four weeks.
Arsenal have revealed that the 24-year-old will be missing for a month, but that would still allow him to play a crucial role in the club's Premier League title bid.
"Johan Djourou has undergone exploratory surgery on his dislocated shoulder, sustained at Old Trafford in the recent FA Cup fixture against Manchester United," read a statement released on the club's official website.
"The club can confirm the positive news that there isn't a need for reconstructive surgery and he will now begin a period of rehabilitation on the shoulder before returning to training in around a month."
