Arsenal's Denilson: Liverpool can't win without Gerrard firing

Denilson believes if Arsenal can silence Steven Gerrard they can beat Liverpool tomorrow at Anfield.

Third-place Arsenal are eight points off leaders Chelsea - but could go seven in front of Liverpool by beating them.

Denilson said: "Injuries have damaged us ]recently but the team is totally concentrated because now it is impossible to fail in the Premier League if we're to have any chance of winning it.

"This month is key for us to reduce the difference between ourselves and Chelsea and Manchester United. The situation is very clear and we want to get higher.

"It will be a tense and emotive match at Anfield - but our challenge is to take the three points, which would leave them seven points behind us. That is vital, although Liverpool are a difficult rival and even more now after their results in the Champions League and the league itself.

"If Fernando Torres plays from the first minute, it won't be so good for us. But the big battle is going to be in midfield. We must stop Gerrard - and also the likes of Lucas and Javier Mascherano to maintain our hopes of victory.

"Last season, this same match at Anfield was incredible, with four goals from Andrey Arshavin in a 4-4 draw.

"This one will have the same intensity and hopefully this time we will see an Arsenal victory.

"The two squads have suffered many injury blows - but this is no excuse.

"We have had many setbacks to our strikers so other people are obliged to step up and help out with goals."
