Arsenal's Chamakh sidelined with toe injury

Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh has ben sidelined with a toe injury.

The Morocco international returned from the African Cup of Nations with a slight problem but tried to play in Tuesday's reserves match against Norwich City.

Chamakh only got through 30 minutes, however, it is not believed to be a serious issue according to reserve team coach Neil Banfield.

"Marouane had a bad toe coming into this one but to be fair to him he wanted to give this game a go. But he could only last for half-an-hour and he had to come off," Banfield told the club's official website.

"Marouane will be alright, it is just a bad toe I think at the moment."
