Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla insists he has no qualms about a missed opportunity with Spanish giants Real Madrid.
The 29-year old Spaniard was a target for Real back in 2008 while with Villarreal but a dream shift to the Santiago Bernabeu was not realised before he moved on to Malaga in 2011.
A 2012 transfer to Arsenal ensued but Cazorla does not look back at his failed move to Madrid as a wasted chance.
"Both clubs [Barcelona and Real Madrid] are monuments of Spanish football," he told RMC.
"All players are dreaming about it. I had contact with Madrid a few years ago but a move could not be completed.
"On several occasions, it is fate that I have not been able to join one of these two clubs. But my career has developed well and I have no regrets."
