Arsenal youngster Ryo Miyaichi was delighted to have finally tasted the English Premier League firsthand on the weekend.
The 19-year old Japanese winger, on loan at Bolton, came on at half-time to replace Martin Petrov against Wigan Athletic at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday and was close to scoring a late leveler for the Trotters who lost 2-1.
Despite the disappointing result, Miyaichi was happy to make his debut and is now looking to build on that impressive performance.
"The manager (Owen Coyle ) told me to go and play my football and be confident. He wanted me to run at the defenders and take them on, so that's what I tried to do.
"I could have got a goal but the goalkeeper made a good save. If I had scored then everything would be more positive. Next time I'm sure I can score.
"As a team, we passed and moved the ball better after half-time but the result wasn't good.
"I have to keep doing what I did against Wigan and hopefully I can get into the team from the start of matches.
"It's not going to be easy. I'm learning every day.""I was happy to be playing and I found out more about the Premier League, but we lost the game so I can't enjoy it too much," Miyaichi told the Trotters' official website.
