Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has been fined close to £5000 for being caught driving without insurance or a licence.
The 24-year old Dane, who spent last season on loan with Sunderland, was pulled over by police in South Tyneside who discovered he did not have insurance on his Audi or the correct drivers licence.
Bendtner received a 56-day driving ban in February for speeding and failed to re-apply for a licence but continued to drive his vehicle without a registration number.
"It was 6.50pm on May 13 when police stopped the defendant's silver Audi Q7," said prosecutor Rachael Dodsworth.
"There were more than two people in the car and there were no 'L' plates.
"There was no trace of the registration number, and there was no insurance on the car."
