Arsenal are eyeing Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.
El Confidencial says the Gunners will make a move for Lewandowski if they fail to land Real Madrid hitman Karim Benzema.
Lewandowski is viewed as the ideal alternative if Arsene Wenger gives up on the former Lyon star.
Real are determined to keep Benzema and have ruled out selling the French international on several occasions.
It's thought the Gunners were willing to splash out £35m to land the 27-year-old.
He joined the Spanish giants in 2009.
