Arsenal are ready to bid for Sporting CP striker Islam Slimani.
The Daily Star says they're putting together a £23m bid for Slimani after being snubbed by Jamie Vardy.
Vardy has agreed a new deal with champions Leicester, so Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has turned his attention to 28-year-old Algerian international Slimani.
The player scored 27 goals in 33 games in the Portuguese league last season and has a host of clubs chasing him.
Among them are the Foxes, who want Slimani to team up with his fellow countryman Riyad Mahrez, and Everton.
Slimani is under contract until 2020, but it is understood he would prefer a move to Arsenal.
