Arsenal are ready to accept AC Milan's £5 million offer for defender William Gallas.

The Sun says Gallas, 31, is weighing up his Arsenal future after being fined and stripped of the captaincy by boss Arsene Wenger this week.

He has 2½ years of his £80,000-a-week Emirates contract to run.

But he has been left hurt by recent events after publicly criticising his young Arsenal team-mates.

Milan are one of the few clubs in Europe who could match Gallas' wage demands.

But he will be allowed to go only if the Gunners can find a replacement in January who is still eligible to play in this season's Champions League.
