Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger hopes to push through a deal for Southampton winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The Daily Mail says Wenger will table an improved offer for Southampton starlet Oxlade-Chamberlain this week.
Arsenal have already had a £10m bid - made up of a £5m downpayment with the rest in performance related add-ons - rejected.
Saints chairman Nicola Cortese wants more of the fee up front, and his insistence on a hefty sell-on clause has also proved a stumbling block. The Gunners will this week increase the downpayment offer to £6.5m.
