Manchester United face competition from Arsenal for Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha. The Guardian says Zaha's transfer from Crystal Palace to either Manchester United or Arsenal could be resolved by the start of next week.

Although David Gill, the United chief executive, said this week there was still some way to go regarding whether Zaha might sign for the club, there is optimism at Palace that the transfer could be completed by Monday.

It is understood that, while United remain in pole position, Arsenal are also trying to buy the winger, whose final price may be around £10m.
