Arsenal push to close £75M Bundesliga triple swoop in coming days

Arsenal are pushing to close a £75m Bundesliga triple swoop in the coming days.

The Sun says all three signings are planned to arrive even before their new manager has been confirmed.

The Gunners are closing in on central defenders Sokratis Papastathopoulos, of Borussia Dortmund and Freiburg's Caglar Soyuncu as well as Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno.

Head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is driving all the deals without needing the approval of Arsene Wenger's replacement.

Mislintat's prominent role in the squad rebuilding confirms that the new manager's role will be confined to coaching the squad and picking the team.

And that makes it even more likely that the new man will be Mikel Arteta rather than a more established boss such as Max Allegri or Luis Enrique.

Mislintat knows all three transfer targets from his time in Germany as Borussia Dortmund's chief scout.
