Arsenal preparing to lose Sagna this summer

Arsenal have begun the process of replacing Bacary Sagna after instructing scouts to compile a detailed dossier of prospective right back targets.

Sagna and the club are currently in the midst of a long-running contract stand-off, with the France defender currently refusing to sign a 12 month extension to his existing deal which would take him to the summer of 2015, says the Daily Mail.

The deal would not include a pay-rise, meaning the player would remain on his current £60,000-per-week salary.

Privately, Sagna concedes his Arsenal career is likely to come to an end this summer.

He has told close friends he has lucrative offers from Russia and the Middle East already in the pipeline, while Inter Milan are known to be interested in the defender.
