Arsenal prepare bid for Valencia's Silva

The Sun says Alex Hleb is eager to get away from Arsenal with Barcelona the latest club to make a move for the unsettled Belarus star.

And boss Wenger has found the man to fill Hleb's boots in £20million-rated Spaniard Silva.

Wenger was in Vienna on Sunday to watch Silva in Spain's victory over Italy - a match decided by Gunner Cesc Fabregas in the penalty shootout.

Silva, 22, was again impressive, as he has been throughout Euro 2008, in Spain's march to the semi-finals.

His versatility attracts Wenger because he can play right or left of midfield or off the front man.

An Arsenal source revealed: "Arsene wasn't just in Vienna to cheer on Cesc - he was there to take a good look at Silva.

"He is a player who would fit well in the Arsenal set-up, especially if Hleb goes."
