And they are ready to compete with interest from Spain and Italy for the Senegal international.

The 27-year-old, on the bench for the win over West Brom on Saturday, has been compared to Kante by Everton director of football Steve Walsh, who brought the Chelsea star to the Premier League.

Everton are looking at an improved contract for their summer signing from Villa after his first-season impact.
