Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is chasing free agent Stephane Mbia. The Daily Star says the 28-year-old holding midfielder is available after being released by QPR.
Mbia made 30 appearances on loan at Sevilla last season, helping them win the Europa League, and wants a salary of around £60,000 a week.
The Cameroon international plays in a position Arsenal boss Wenger believes needs strengthening and would be a far less costly signing than his top target, Real Madrid's Sami Khedira.
Newcastle, West Ham and Crystal Palace are also interested in Mbia, who has also played for Rennes and Marseille.
