Arsenal players praised by Wenger for Man Utd draw

Arsene Wenger was proud of his Arsenal players following the 1-1 draw with Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Gunners scored first through Theo Walcott before former star of the club Robin van Persie equalised for the newly-crowned champions with a pre-half-time penalty.

Despite Arsenal requiring a win to edge ahead of North London rivals Tottenham for a top-four spot, Wenger was pleased with the result.

"That equaliser played a big part in the game," he told Sky Sports.

"It put us in a difficult position but overall I can only praise the players for the effort and dynamic and desire we put in. Let's keep it going like that and we'll have a chance to be where we want to be."
