Arsenal could add a fourth German World Cup winner to their squad this summer, with the Gunners reportedly keen on securing the services of Schalke's Benedikt Howedes.
Centre-back Howedes has made almost 300 appearances for Schalke, with the 27-year old currently serving as the club's captain.
However, a disappointing season saw the Gelsenkirchen club finish sixth in the Bundesliga this year.
The Daily Mirror reports a £14 million transfer could take place between the two sides this summer.
Should a move go through, Howedes would join fellow German teammates Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski at the north London club.
