Arsenal are weighing up a shock raid on Liverpool for fullback Glen Johnson. The Daily Express says the Gunners are monitoring England defender Johnson's contract situation at Liverpool with a view to a possible transfer.
Johnson's contract at Liverpool doesn't expire until next year but the 29-year-old has been told he will need to accept a pay cut to extend his stay at Anfield.
And that has alerted manager Arsene Wenger to the possibility that the former West Ham and Chelsea defender may be open to a return to London with the Gunners.
