Arsenal are ready to upgrade the contract of midfielder Alex Song.
The Daily Mail says Song, 24, has been in sparkling form in recent months, something that has coincided with Arsenal's resurgence.
The Cameroon international's existing deal is worth around £55,000 a week and expires in the summer of 2014. But Wenger has instructed chief executive Ivan Gazidis to begin talks with Song with a view to securing his long-term future before the start of next season.
Song is expected to be offered a five-year deal worth around £75,000 a week - making him one of the club's highest earners.
