Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is preparing a £12 million raid for Everton starlet Jack Rodwell.

The People says the Frenchman has had promising youngster Rodwell, 18, watched several times this season.

And Wenger is ready to back up his interest in the England youth international by tabling an offer which could rise to that £12m figure during the course of the contract.
