Arsenal performance shows just how far we have come - Stoke boss Hughes

Mark Hughes believes his Stoke City's side displays against top teams this season proves the club is heading in the right direction.

The Potters drew 0-0 with Arsenal at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday taking two points off the Premier League leaders and moving up to seventh place on the table in the process.

It adds yet another top scalp to their list this season following victories over Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea which tells Hughes his club is in a very strong position.

"I didn't think there was too much between the two sides," Hughes said after the draw.

"From our point of view, that shows how far we're progressing this year - we're prepared to go toe to toe with every team in the Premier League and see where it takes us.

"We've added Arsenal to Chelsea, Man City, Man Utd, teams that are elite teams in the Premier League and Europe and found it very, very difficult to get positives results.

"I'm sure Arsenal and Arsene are delighted that they've come here and got a point out of it."
