Arsenal performance is the new standard for Swansea says coach Curtis

Swansea City coach Alan Curtis has urged his players to follow last night's victory over Arsenal as the standard for the rest of the season.

The Welsh club came from behind to claim a 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium to secure an important result in their relegation battle which sees them six points clear of the bottom three.

"The boys were excellent tonight," said Curtis who again stood in for the ill Francesco Guidolin.

"We set a standard tonight and we need to keep it going.

"It was a chance for some of the players coming in this evening, and they grabbed their opportunity and have given the manager a problem.

"Tonight was a reminder that we're still a good footballing team. We passed the ball well in the second half and played good football.

"Sometimes you play against teams and have a good record. Against Arsenal, it's the type of football we seem to play well against.

"We enjoy playing against them. It's always a good game and we've enjoyed some good results.

"But irrespective of tonight's result, we have three big games coming up. We have three massive fixtures against Norwich, Bournemouth and Aston Villa, which will probably define our season. We must build on this."

Wayne Routledge and Ashley Williams scored either side of the break after Joel Campbell had fired Arsenal into the lead inside 15 minutes.
