Arsenal owner Kroenke getting it right with Colorado Rapids - MLS chief Garber

MLS Commissioner Don Garber is of the belief that Stan Kroenke is getting things together with the Colorado Rapids.

The billionaire entrepreneur, who is the majority shareholder of Premier League giants Arsenal, has been criticised for worrying too much about the business side and not the sport side of the Rapids.

However, Garber has stated that Kroenke - along with Kroenke Sports president Jim Martin and son Josh who acts as the Rapids substitute chief - have it all under control at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

"Without a doubt, Jim Martin and Josh Kroenke have gotten more focused on giving the team a lot more resources," Garber said in an interview with The Denver Post.

"They're running on all cylinders. And the staff that's in place is no different than any of the staff at any of our top teams.

"This is a better environment (in Colorado) for this discussion than it would have been three years ago. We're proud of, and very optimistic of, what's going on here."

Stats show the Rapids are growing too, as season ticket sales have doubled since 2010, and Garber sees plenty more relevance surrounding the Colorado club.

"It's a club that is so deeply connected with one of the most influential sports team owners in the world," Garber added. "Associating with this club is associating with Stan Kroenke.

"This club has a fire in its belly and is becoming more and more relevant."
