Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is eyeing a shock move for Juventus captain Alessandro del Piero. Del Piero will leave Juve when he comes off contract in June and has been mulling over an offer to move to the USA, where LA Galaxy, Montreal Impact and New York Red Bulls are all keen.

However, Tuttosport says Arsenal have already made contact with Del Piero's camp and Wenger wants to bring him to London for next season.

After the success of Thierry Henry, Wenger has had a rethink on buying experienced players and would love Del Piero to work with his youngsters at Emirates.

The Frenchman came close to landing Del Piero in 2006 and hopes it'll be second time lucky this summer.
