Manchester City have opened talks with West Brom for Jonny Evans.
The Daily Mail says Evans would be available for £20million with Pep Guardiola keen to add both a defender and Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez in the transfer window.
The Ulsterman would arrive as cover for injured captain Vincent Kompany.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admitted this week that City's finances give them an advantage in their pursuit of the 30-year-old.
"If the decision comes to finances against Manchester City, we know we will be second best," Wenger conceded.
