Arsenal have a delegation in Germany today for talks with Schalke over Julian Draxler.
Amid this morning's reports of a bid of £24.7 million being tabled by the Gunners for Draxler, comes the news that Arsenal officials are in Germany for face-to-face talks.
Sky Sports says it is thought discussions are ongoing over a fee between the two clubs.
Arsenal have been chasing Draxler for over six months, with chief executive Ivan Gazidis failing to agree terms with Schalke on the final Sunday of the summer market last year.
We understand Draxler has already had a tour of Arsenal's London Colney training facilities and favours the Gunners as his next destination due to their growing German contingent.
Draxler's buy-out clause is £37million.
