Arsenal are now the most successful team in FA Cup history.

Their FA Cup semi-final victory by Arsenal over Reading may not have been classic from the Gunners, but their 2-1 victory was just about enough to seal their place in this year's final.

Two goals from Alexis Sanchez either side of Gareth McCleary's strike spared Arsene Wenger's blushes and ensured his side will return to Wembley for crack at retaining their title.

That will be the 40th appearance that the North London club has made at Wembley, which is also more than any other side.

By May 30, Arsenal will have appeared in 19 FA Cup finals, winning 11 of them.

That gives them a superior record to Manchester United, who have also won 11, but appeared in the last stage one fewer times.
