Arsenal assistant manager Pat Rice is considering retirement at the end of the season, it has been revealed.
The Times says Rice, 60, arrived at Arsenal as a 15-year-old apprentice in 1964 and made 528 appearances as a right back before joining Watford in 1980. He returned to Highbury four years later to work as a coach and became Arsène Wenger's assistant in 1996.
Wenger is under pressure to sign players after Arsenal failed to win a trophy this season for the fourth consecutive season and the manager may also feel that it is time to freshen up his backroom staff.
