Cheikhou Kouyate has been told he can leave Anderlecht at the end of the season.
The 23-year old Senegal-born defender has attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United, Fulham, Cardiff City and Southampton in recent times but will not be leaving Belgium in the winter according to managing director Herman van Holsbeeck.
"The chances he stays at Anderlecht during the winter break are 75 per cent," he told Belgian weekly Sport/Foot Magazine.
"We have promised him a transfer at the end of the season, like we did with Dieumerci Mbokani (now with Dynamo Kiev) and Lucas Biglia (Lazio).
"I'm reading everywhere he'll be leaving in January, but I'm not sure about that. Finding a replacement during the season is difficult.
"Only when a spectacular offer comes in, we will allow him to leave."
