Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger must up his bid to land Le Havre fullback Benjamin Mendy.

The Daily Star says Wenger has offered £2.5m for the left-back but the intense competition to sign him could mean his asking price doubles.

Sunderland and Cardiff have both shown interest in snapping him up, as have Italian champions Juventus and French giants Lyon and Marseille.
