Arsenal are believed to be closing in on Borussia Monchengladbach's Havard Nordtveidt.

According to Bild, the Gunners are keen to re-sign the midfielder who spent time with the North London club earlier in his career.

Nordtveidt, 25, is out of contract in the summer and it is believed that Arsenal are determined to land him on a free ahead rivals Tottenham Hotspur who are also showing interest.

During his three-year spell at Arsenal, the Norway international failed to make a senior appearance but has been a key member of Gladbach's first team since arriving in 2011.
