Arsenal midfielder Alex Song is facing trial by video after an apparent stamp on Newcastle United's Joey Barton.
The Sun says the incident in Arsenal's 0-0 draw at Newcastle on Saturday was not seen by referee Peter Walton.
But Wembley chiefs will speak with Walton today and decide whether to study video evidence.
If charged with violent misconduct, the Gunners' Cameroon midfielder can expect a three-match ban.
The FA will also examine Barton's role in a later melee which saw him slapped by Gervinho - who was sent off.
