Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey claims that he stepped up to the challenge for Wales at Euro2016.

The Wales star was one of the standout performers for his nation and helped them to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.

The 25-year-old was desperate to prove himself on the world stage and was delighted to have helped the Dragons perform so outstandingly well in France.

"Before the tournament I was really keen to do well in this competition and stand up and be noticed," he said.

"I felt that I've done that. It helps playing in this team as well but I wanted to personally do my best and I think I have."
