Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is set to be approached by the Kosovo FA.
The 23-year-old is a Switzerland international and has made 44 appearances for his country, scoring six times.
Arsenal's new £33m signing was born in Basel in Switzerland shortly after his parents migrated from what was then Yugoslavia.
And they confirm he could be approached in the coming days with the attention of persuading him to become a Kosovo international.
A statement from the Football Federation of Kosovo to the Evening Standard reads: "Kosovo has called up publicly and privately every Kosovan player who currently plays for any other national team.
“Everyone is welcomed to join us on our new and very important challenges."
