Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby admits his injury problems have slowed his development.

Diaby recovered from a serious leg break early in his Gunners career to now be regarded as a first-choice in midfield.

Diaby said, "Indeed, injuries have slowed down my development.

"But I have to hold on and sustain my efforts, so today I am in the French team group to prepare for the World Cup.

"I tried to find the reason to my injuries, why it happened so often. Now I take care about anything: treatments, rest, physical work, warm-ups.

"I am much more rigorous, less lax about preparation."
