Arsenal are closing in on a deal for Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler.
Arsenal have moved ahead of Newcastle in the race for Inler by tabling a £5m bid, says the Daily Mail.
The figure activates the release clause in Inler's contract, and leaves Arsene Wenger as a clear favourite to sign the Switzerland international.
